A bandpass filter passes energy within a certain bandwidth and rejects, or attenuates frequencies below, and above that bandwidth. A lowpass filter is a filter that passes energy below a specified cutoff frequency, and attenuates or rejects signals at frequencies higher than the cutoff frequency. A highpass filter is a filter that passes energy above a specified cutoff frequency, and attenuates or rejects signals at frequencies lower than the cutoff frequency.

A diplexer is a dual bandpass filter that combines two bands into a common port. Usually one of the bands would be the transmit port, the other, the receive port, and the common is the antenna port A duplexer is a lowpass & highpass(sometime consisting of 2 bandpass)dual band filter that combines two bands into a common port. Usually one of the bands would be the transmit port, the other, the receive port, and the common is the antenna port
