Q. Define "standard", "semi-custom", and "custom" product types?

A. Anatech offers three types of products:

- Standard products are available either from stock or in a few days after you place your order and cover popular combinations of specifications required in popular applications.

- Semi-custom products are variations on our standard products, many of whose specifications can be modified quickly.

- Custom products are those designed to meet a unique set of customer-supplied requirements.



Q. What types of products can be "semi-customized"?

A. Mostly filters. Variable parameters include center frequency, bandwidth, rejection points, connectors, and mounting method. Changes to electrical characteristics are limited and depend on the specific product.  Our technical staff can tell you what can be achieved.



Q. To what countries does Anatech ship?

A. Products sold by Anatech Electronics can be shipped globally within the guideline of the US, department of commerce. Items bought from our Web store AMCrf.com can be shipped only to companies, and addresses within in the United States.



Q. Does Anatech provide services tailored to military customers?

A. Yes, Anatech Electronics, do cater to Government entities, the Military, and their prime contractors.  The Aerospace and Defense industry is one of Anatech Electronics primary markets, and it has developed the capabilities, facilities, and quality control procedures required by defense customers. Q. What are the limitations, and advantages of ceramic filters?

A. Ceramic filters usually can handle low power up to 5 W depending on their size. They are mostly surface-mount bandpass filters but can be integrated within a connectorized package. Their frequency range of operation is about 400 MHz to 6 GHz. Ceramic filter can be very small and suitable for mass production at a relatively low cost.



Q. What are the limitations, and advantages of cavity filters?

A. Cavity filters are mostly designed as bandpass filters and are connectorized devices that are generally large because they use quarter-wavelength resonators. As a result, their size is directly dependent on their operating frequencies - lower frequencies produce larger filters. However they can achieve very high performance, with extremely sharp transitions from passband to stop band, and can handle relatively large power. They can be designed from about 20 MHz (very large) to above 20 GHz (very small).



Q. What are the limitations and advantages of lumped-element filters?

A. Lumped-element filters are very versatile, are available from 10 kHz (very large) to 6 GHz (very small). They can be designed with extremely narrow to extremely large bandwidths and are available in connectorized, PCB board mount, surface mount, drop-in, and variations. However, they do have limitations. Lumped-element filters are limited by the performance and Q factor of the lumped elements themselves, and at very high frequencies the required element size is too small to be physically realized, and at very low frequencies it becomes prohibitively large.



Q. What are the limitations and advantages of crystal filters?

A. Pure crystal filters can be designed as bandpass filters up to about 200 MHz and are mostly used in the IF portion of a receiver, where their narrow bandwidth capabilities are desirable, and especially when CW and single-sideband modulation is used. For example, a filter with a center frequency of 100 MHz can have a 3 kHz bandwidth. They cannot be designed efficiently at bandwidths greater than 0.05% of the center frequency and have relatively high insertion loss. They can be manufactured in connectorized, PC mount, and in some cases surface -mount configurations.



Q. What are the limitations and advantages of SAW filters?

A. The greatest limitation of SAW bandpass filters is their low power handling ability - about 1 watt and their inability to be modified, since they are chip-scale devices. However, they are almost always surface-mount devices and can operate from about 10 MHz to 4 GHz. SAW filters also have low group delay variation and very sharp skirts and can be made in very large quantities.



Q. What is the frequency range of your filter products?

A. Anatech Electronics manufactures RF and microwave filters are available from 100 kHz to 20 GHz, and the operating frequency of our other products varies with the application.



Q. Are your products ROHS compliant?

A. Yes, all Anatech products are ROHS compliant.



Q. Do you manufacture weatherproof filters for outdoor use?

A. Yes, we manufacture weatherproof filters and other products designed for use in outdoor such as on antenna poles, base stations, access points, and other installations that are exposed to the elements.



Q. What is the typical temperature range of your products?

A. Depending on the design and device, the typical operating temperature range of our filters and other devices is from -40 to +85o C. Special designs can achieve a wider temperature range.



Q. Do you manufacture high-power filters?

A. Yes, Anatech Electronics can design filters that handle up to 300 W average power.  



Q. What types of connectors are used in your products?

A.
BNC, SMA, Type-N, TNC, SMC, C, and most standard RF & Microwave connectors.  Anatech Electronics will entertain custom connectors.



Q. Can your ceramic filters be connectorized?

A.
Yes, our ceramic filters are originally designed as Surface mount, but can be put in a connectorized enclosure, and still maintain the full original electronics characteristics.
